STEIN GAUSEREIDE, Founder & CEO
Stein graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 1997 with a degree in Computer Arts. During his studies, in 1996, he worked for TV2 Norway as a 3d Animator. This division of TV2 later became Vizrt, the world’s leading real-time 2d and 3d graphics company. After graduating he moved to London where he worked for leading post production facilities The Moving Picture Company and Double Negative Visual Effects as a 3D Animator. In the spring of 2000 Stein co-started Vizrt London. As a Project Manager he was managing customers and projects such as The UK General Election for ITN and the Premiership Football for Sky Sports. In London Stein initiated and pioneered the Vizrt product ‘Viz-Fx’ for the film market working closely with colleagues from the UK visual effects and film industry. Viz-Fx took him to Hollywood in 2003 where he worked with Director Randal Kleiser (Grease) and DP David Stump, ASC on the feature 'Red Riding Hood', the first known feature film ever shot entirely on blue-screen while using virtual backgrounds and set-extensions for real-time composite preview and camera data recording. Early 2004 Stein moved back to the West coast to set up the Vizrt Los Angeles office, working with clients such as KABC, KCBS and DirecTV. On February 14, 2006 he founded realtime visual effects company Gausst Inc. Gausst has been involved with high profile companies and projects such as a FedEx’ Super Bowl commercial, Good Morning America, Comedy Central’s Mind of Mencia, Blue Man Group and most recently the currently in production Paul Greengrass feature film “The Greenzone”, where Gausst used a proprietary laptop virtual set solution. Stein is also Co-Creator and Executive Co-Producer on ‘The Music Box – A Dance-along Fairytale’, an enjoyable dance movie for kids all ages.
